Parent Trading Post is the brainchild of our daughter Mary Cosley. After her children's school went to uniforms, getting outfits for everyone became much harder. She soon saw the school requirements were unreasonable for most parents in her area. She looked for agencies and organizations that might help and those she found were overburdened. A few weeks ago she mentioned on facebook that parents could get together to trade or donate school clothes, and to her surprise, people were very interested. Since it was her idea and I felt it was excellent, I volunteered to create this website.
Parent Trading Post is a place for parents to post items they have or need and other parents to view the postings so they can select and trade items they need for their children. Trading is at no cost unless clothing is mailed and the receiver pays postage. We hope that most often, parents will meet at a public place, trade in person, and get to know each other.
Registration requires minimal information which will not be passed on to anyone. All correspondences will be through the website. The only way people will get your name or email address is if you give it to them.
We will not support the efforts of anyone who sees this as an opportunity to make money. We have worked tirelessly to create this website so people can trade or donate for their mutual benefit. This is a labor of love and compassion for our neighbors who struggle to provide for their family in one of the harshest of economically diminished times.
We welcome all suggestions and hope this website proves to be valuable.
Sincerely,
Cindy and Jimmy Requa
